Persistant Student Responses possible?
Submitted by TCotton on Wed, 03/24/2021 - 01:46
Forums:
Noob question: Can the student responses be made persistent for any or all H5P objects?
Context: H5P.com embeded into Canvas via the canvas plugin.
The usecase: I would like to revisit a H5P object multiple times, allowing the student to update their responses based on their most recent learning.

Hi TCotton,
Yes this is possible by enabling the save content state in the H5P settings for the H5P plugins in Wordpress, Moodle and Drupal. Please note that not all content types supports this feature (e.g. Interactive Book)

Thanks @BV52 - I thought it
Thanks @BV52 - I thought it could. It seems that my institution is not supporting this feature that I might have to look at requesting a Learning Records Store be implemented:
Is that Right?

Cool but... is LRS required for non WP/M/D H5P integrations
Thanks BV - is LRS required for non WP/M/D H5P integrations? My instituion has integrated H5P.com into Canvas but objects are not saving user input - only scores.
Looking at LRS info you've posted in the past (thank you) seems like the requirement for this feature, right?:

Hi TCotton,
I'm sorry I failed to read the part about H5P.com and Canvas on your original post. The "save content state" is a feature planned for H5P.com but the development and release are yet to be set.

Save Content State in 2022?
Hi BV - just a bump on the thread to see if "save content state" for Canvas made it to the development schedule?

All Good & thanks
All good. It's positive that it's a planned feature. Would have been awesome to have available for the designing of a brand new course (1000's of students per semester).
Just getting used to the slightly kooky forums interface here - apols for double post.
