Course Presentation Tool

Hello!  I've created a Course Presentation tool to test the feasibility of using the text input and export feature for a project I'm working on currently.  In the behavioral settings of this tool, it seems like it's possible to prevent the "Show Solutions" and "Retry" button from showing on this particular content that I'm creating.  I have made the appropriate selections in that menu and saved.  However, when I go back in and view the tool, these buttons are still displaying.  Is there something I'm missing or is this a bug?

Hi,

The Override "Show Solutions" and "Retry" options, removes those options from the Content Types you have embedded in your course presentation.

I couldn't see any embedded Content Types (except for the text one) in the file you attached to this post.

Also, make sure you have the latest version of Course Presentation.

Is there any way to shut this off from the end of the project?

Yes, just check "Hide Summary Slide" under "Behaviour settings"

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your response.  What I'm looking to do here with the course presentation is to have an "open-ended" response question where someone could type in an answer to that question and print or export it.  I am looking to get rid of the "show solutions" and "retry" button on the summary slide--which by the way does not go away when I edit the behavioral settings.  Even with the "Hide Summary Slide" checked, it still displays.

Is there any way that you can think of that I might be able to get the desired functionality?

Best,

Crystal

(sorry for the duplicate comment; I meant to reply.  I tried to delete the comment while editing it, but there was no such option.)

Hi Crystal,

I've looked into your problem, and you are of course correct, in that the last slide doesn't go away even with "Hide summary slide" checked.

It is because the "Export text" button is needed. So then, I'm sorry, but you can't get rid of the "Show solutions", and "Retry" buttons.

I hope you can still use Course Presentation for your task. :)

Thanks for looking into it.  I wish there was a simpler tool for open-response text items, but for now I think this might suffice.  I appreciate your time and effort. :-)

I would also like a solution to this bug in H5P. I sometimes use course presentations in online activities with the students working together to answer querstions. I don't need or want the last slide. I just explain to my students to ignonore the last slide because it's a problem with H5P.
