Agamotto - copyright information not displayed

Although I follow the instructions from the tutorial about adding credits for the images by adding metadata for each image, the "rights of usage" button is not displayed. I also checked the "Display Copyright Button". Is there any fix or another way of citing the images?

Thanks,

Hi Meltos,

I just checked Agamotto and I'm seeing the "rights of use" button. Where are you creating your content (Wordpress, Drupal, Moodle, H5P.com or somewhere else)? Are you seeing the toolbar below the content? A screenshot might help. Also it might help if you attach a sample content that is having this issue.

Hi!

As you can see, the copyright information should show just fine (https://h5p.org/content-types/agamotto), and it's technically not a matter of Agamotto but of H5P.Image or H5P core.

One common issue is that people keep the default setting for the License which is "undisclosed" which will in turn not disclose the license information. If that's the case, please choose one of the other options.

Cheers,
Oliver

Hi,

Thanks for your helpful response about the copyright information. It solved the problem.

I have another question: I want to ensure that the content in Agamotto or other content is accessible. Is writing the explanation in the description section sufficient for that content to be accessible? In other words, would the screen readers read what is in the "description section"? If yes, then I do not need to repeat that information in the "Alt Text" section. I would only type the name of the image in the "Alt text" section. What would you recommend?

Thanks,

Meltem

Hi Meltem!

An image's alt text and an image's description will be combined for a screen reader when it announces information about the image. So you could in theory only use either one. They serve a different purpose however. The alt text is intended to describe what the image contains if it's not purely decorative (putting the image name in there makes no sense, I guess). The description text may also describe what the image shows, but it could be something else entirely.

Have a look at the demo content that has images related to seasons and some song lyrics. Here the images are merely decorative, so they don't have alt text. Only the description will be read when the screen reader is triggered by the image. There may be other cases, however, where the description text does relate to something that's in the image but not described in the description text again. You'd want to have some alt text then, too.

Oliver

Thanks, Oliver.

Hi,

I want to use the "Mark the Words" activity. On the "Content types recommendations" page (https://documentation.h5p.com/content/1290410474004879128), under the "Accessible" section, I see a note states: "There are known problems that will not be solved immediately. We aim to solve them when the H5P Hub is done."

I was wondering if the problems are solved so I can use the "Mark the Words" activity?

Thanks.
