Drag the words- issue with dragging words into first line of text

Hi,

I have used the Quiz(Question Set) tool on H5P via Moodle and two of the activities include 'Drag the words'. Although the two Drag the words activities were working fine last year, this year I have encountered and issue with dropping the correct word into the box for the first line of text. This is only an issue with the first line of text as I can drop words into the boxes of the remaining text. The other activities seem to be working fine. I am using a Desktop and have tried various browsers (Chrome, Microsoft edge, Firefox) with the same result. If anyone can shed any light on this for me that would be great! As I have

Hi Revecca,

Thank you for reporting this. This is a known issue with Drag the Words, what is happening here is that the drop zone is not detecting the draggable not unless the mouse pointer is on top of the drop zone. Having said this it should work as long as the mouse pointer is pointed on the drop zone. Unfortunately we do not have an timeline when this will be resolved.

I have a large Moodle site for teaching English.

The site primarily uses the drag the words tool for students to build the answer to the question.

My site is effectively useless because students cannot drag words into place.

 It seems to me that some of your development in the back end has created a bug.

 

It previously worked without any issues. Mobile phone and computer operation is the same. Useless now.

I hope this serious issue is resolved quickly.

This bug makes the "Drag the words" content type very non-intutive when wanting to drag words into the first line.

Please escelate this bug and fix it, when you can.

I have fixed the issue and created both a pull request with the code (in case someone wants to patch) and a ticket to track progress at H5P Group.

This bug is still occurring today. I even deleted the interaction and completely rebuilt it, but the problem remained. It was okay yesterday. 

Please fix this ASAP. It is a real waste of time.

Hi Mark,

There are improvements under development to the design of Drag the Words and it is planned to include the fix for this issue. We do not have a schedule yet as to when this will be released.

There's a fix available today that hardly requires changes and that has been registered with the ticket id HFP-3847 in H5P Group’s ticket system. That ticket holds details and a visual demo.
