Upload images to Timeline
Hi
Playing with the Timeline for the first time and loving it, but I'm a little confused as to why it's so difficult to add an image to the timeline.
You can upload a thumbnail which works fine - why can't you upload an image to the main body?
I am planning on using the Timeline for patients to tell their story of living with a rare disease. Most of them will be 60+ and will be able to upload an image, however I can't expect them to store their photos on Flickr and then link to a URL.
Are there any plans to develop this? This is the only thing holding me back from implementing this very worthwhile project.
Thanks.
Dan

Hi Dan,
Thank you for the suggestion. I agree that this feature is lacking in this particular content. It will definitely make this great content even greater.

2025 and still not possible?
Am I missing something or is it STILL not possible to upload anything more than a thumbnail to a timeline object? Finding it very frustrating that an image has to be hosted somewhere - we literally just purchased the image from a stock photography site, but can't use it, because it insists on a linkage?! Is there any way around this?? can the 'thumbnail' upload be turned into a regular larger image upload?

Hi bronwynburles,
Timeline was not developed by H5P developers. AFAIK it's structure is different from other H5P content types and it is not as easy to change update it.
PS. Please do not repost the same question in different forum threads.

Hi!The Timeline content type
Hi!
The Timeline content type (which in fact was created by H5P Group) is a wrapper to the TimelineJS library (by KnightLab, https://timeline.knightlab.com/). The wrapper uses an older version of the library and is in fact pretty limited.
There's a variant of the Timeline content type which was created by NDLA. That variant allows to upload images and a couple of other things. However, it also has its limits, imposed by KnightLab's library which is not further developed. https://explore.ndla.no/what-we-create/h5p/ndla-timeline/

Hi bronwynburles,
You might consider my 'papi Jo' version of H5P Timeline, which allows uploading images. See details at http://www.h5p.rezeau.org/
