How to allow user to input mathematical symbols in Fill in the Blanks quizzes?

I found the Fill in the Blanks quiz type of H5P really great. However now I have a use case that seems to go beyond the standard functionality.

I'm interested in making a quiz where correct answers can include mathematical symbols. Although it's possible to put mathematical symbols into the pre-defined correct answers by using the right unicode characters, this doesn't solve the problem yet of letting the quiztaker easily fill in the correct mathematical symbols.

Websites that expect mathematical symbol inputs from users often solve this through displaying a menu where the user can select mathematical input symbols for input by clicking on them.

Does any plugin exist, either directly H5P-based or independent from H5P, that would allow you to integrate such a mathematical input symbol selection menu into a H5P Fill in the Blanks quiz?

Have you tried looking through H5P's documentation?

I had not yet checked this documentation page. However this page seems to deal with use of Latex commands for math rendering, and I'm looking specifically for a way to let users who are not familiar with Latex enter mathematical symbols without it.

Hi ridazacadu,

I think this is what you are looking for: https://help.h5p.com/hc/en-us/articles/7541975419165-MathType-and-H5P

This is a feature in H5P.com. Feel free to sign up for a free trial if you want to test this feature.

Yes. This is indeed exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately a H5P.com Pro subscription is above my budget though.
