Missing content types in self hosted Column

Hi!

I noticed that on h5p.org there are 9 content types available in Column that are not available on the version of Column I have on my self hosted site:

  • Accordion
  • Collage
  • Documentation tool
  • Iframe Embedder
  • Image Hotspots
  • Find the Hotspot
  • Memory Game
  • Question Set
  • Timeline

I've got a bunch of content on h5p.org that I'm planning to remake on a self hosted site. I was wondering if there were plans to include these content types in the Column version of H5P available for Drupal.

Also, regarding Memory Game in the h5p.org version of Column:

Memory Game was recently updated to include the ability to match two different images rather than the same image as discussed in this thread: https://h5p.org/comment/14498

I noticed that this functionality is not currently available in the Column version of Memory Game on h5p.org (at the moment you can only match the same image). I was wondering if that functionality could be ported to the Column version of Memory Game (it's really good for making language learning activities more fun).

I was going to have a crack at doing this myself when I discovered Memory Game wasn't included in Column on my self hosted site (unlikely I would've been able to do it as I've only just completed the "hello world" content type devolopment example!).

I've included 4 images to help explain what I've been on about in case I'm being really unclear :)

Many thanks for all the work on H5P and apologies if I'm missing something obvious with this feature request.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,

Thank you for the very detailed explanation it makes it easier to find a solution :-) .

For your first question, you mentioned that there are several contents that are missing in Column. The reason for this is that they are not yet downloaded into your Drupal library. There are 2 ways of doing this:

1. You can download them one by one by virtually creating them in Drupal (E.g. click get on Accordion on the list of contents) or...

2. You can create a "Column" content in H5P.org that includes all contents then download and upload it in Drupal. This will automatically download the contents that are missing in Drupal.

Personally the 2nd option is the best. It is the most efficient way that I know to download the contents into Drupal, Moodle or Wordpress. This is how I do it whenever I have a new instance of any of the 3 plugins.

For your second question, you are correct the Memory Game in Column is an older version. We are still working on updating content types that inlcudes multiple contents but I don't have a timeline yet on when they would be released.

You're 100% correct. Installing the missing content types individually makes them appear on the list of content available to Column.

Aaaand, uploading an H5P file with the missing content types automatically installs them and makes them all available in Column :)

I guess a potential issue for users might be that installing Column on a fresh install automatically installs 20 libraries (in my case) but not all 27 content type libraries listed in the semantics.json in Column. I tried to figure out why that is but I couldn't!

---

The standalone Memory Game is currently v1.2 and the one used in Column is v1.1

Because you can't download the old Memory Game version from the H5P hub, it seems currently the only way to have Memory Game available in Column is to upload one made in h5p.org in order to automatically install the old version.

I changed line 37 in H5P.Column-1.4 semantics.json from "H5P.MemoryGame 1.1" to "H5P.MemoryGame 1.2", I enabled H5P development mode and I was able to make a Memory Game with two different matching cards.

Let me know if I can help out in any way.

It's nice to see that you were able to make this work. I'll surely take note of this for future reference :-)

Hello and thank you for the good work!

Do you know if the Chart feature will be available in Column?
Even on h5p.org content creation it's not available (yet maybe).

Thank you for your feedback

Cheers!

Hi ergopix,

Currently the Chart content is not included in Column. Thank you for the suggestion and I'm sure it will be taken into consideration.

Hi,

You can see on the roadmap, that #3 says "Contracts". This is a feature that will make embedding content types inside other content types possible, and will enable most content types to become available inside Column (or Course Presentation, or Interactive Video).
