WordPress Plugin
An H5P plugin is now available for WordPress. You may follow the development process and contribute at GitHub.
To get started using H5P on your WordPress site:
- Download your desired H5P content type from Examples and downloads on h5p.org. The file is saved in the .h5p format.
- Log on to your WP-admin interface
- Under Plugins in the admin menu, press Add new
- Search for H5P in the plugins search field and press Install Now under the H5P plugin. Press OK in the dialog.
- The plugin will now be installed. When the installation is finished, press Activate Plugin.
- H5P should now appear in the list of installed plugins and the item H5P Content is now available in the admin menu
- Under H5P Content in the admin menu, press Add new
- Give the H5P a title and select the Upload radio button
- Upload the .h5p file you downloaded in step 1
- Press Create
- You can now edit this H5P or you can create new H5Ps of the same content type.
- To create new H5Ps from scratch, follow the procedure in step 7 and then select the Create radio button followed by pressing the Create button. The H5P editor will now show up and you can create your own customized content.
To add more H5P content types to your WordPress site, download any other H5P content type from Examples and downloads on h5p.org. You only have to do this once for each content type; once you have uploaded a certain content type to your WP site, you will be able to create new content without uploading any files.
Check out the tutorials on the Documentation pages to learn more about creating content.
Please visit the Forum for any support or questions.

H5p plugin Wordpress and one.com
The plugin h5p for wordpress isn't working in one.com . they said: "We can only advise you to check with the plugin developer what are the system requirements to run the plugin and let us know so we can check if all of those are within this current hosting, or you need to upgrade." Can you help me ?

Hi lucdirix,
Could you please elaborate on "isn't working". I'm afraid the community won't be able to help if we don't have an error message, a screenshot or an explanation on what is happening. I suggest that you check the suggested information that is required in the "Bugs" forum.

same problem
I have the same problem. We are hosting Wordpress on One.com. I can install it perfectly. I can also "get" new types but when I click use there is just a message: "Loading, please wait...". After that, nothing happens. I read that it could be an issue with upload limits, so I upped it to 256MB but that didn't solve the problem. The only thing, I can think of is that it is a problem with one.com, but they say the problem is not with them...
Please help :D

Another same problem
Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Also hosting Wordpress on One.com tried a lot of different things and reinstalled the plugin a couple of times but without any success. It downloads the library without problem but then stays stuck on "Loading, please wait..." if I try to use it.

Hi Ellen,
It's best that we continue this on this thread. Forum posts have more traffic than documentation pages as well as provides more flexibility (attaching screenshots, H5Ps etc.). I've also provided a suggestion on that thread on how to resolve/isolate the issue.

plugin error
The desktop of my site is broken after H5P update.
Enywhere in the desktop I only see this message:
I entered recovery mode and got this message:
Versión 1.14.1
This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 49 of the file /var/www/sitios/academiamunicipal/wp-content/plugins/h5p/autoloader.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/sitios/academiamunicipal/wp-content/plugins/h5p/h5p-php-library/h5p.classes.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php’)
I had to deactivate the plugin. but it is activated in one of the sites (it's a multisite) so I can't delete it. And I don't have access to ftp.
Has somebody had this issue before? I tried to remove the plugin however I can’t, so it might be due to permission issues.

Slides are appearing in shrinked form
I am importing images to individual slides and want to resize them to the entire size of slide. However, not able to do this. I have tried doing it on the official h5p site and they are working just fine there. Moreover, if I create the presentation slides on h5p.org and download from there and try to upload on h5p wordpress even then I am facing the same issue. Any idea how this can be resolved?

No H5P link on admin menu
Hi there,
I have a LearnDash LMS set up on Wordpress, have added the H5P plugin and activated it, however there is no H5P link appearing in the admin menu. View details on the plugin shows the latest version is installed.
There is a link to H5P in Settings, and a New H5P link in the top drop down menu which takes me to this URL - wp-admin/admin.php?page=h5p_new giving me a Wordpress error message : 'Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.' though I am logged in as an admin.
Any ideas why the H5P link isn't appearing in the admin menu?
Cheers,
Helen

Hi Martina,
The best way to isolate the problem is to check the browser console (ctrl+shift+J or F12) for any errors. You can also try disabling other plugins for WP that may be interfering with H5P.

Hi vra.1101,
I don't have any experience with Kale but if you have an option to change the size of objects it might help. If not checking for errors in browser console may give you clues.

Error message: Validating H5P package failed
Hi,
I'm trying to upload a H5P file that I created in Moodle 3.9 using Image Hotspots to my Wordpress site, but I'm getting the message: "Validating h5p package failed. Invalid data provided for licenseExtras in h5p.json"
Having done some research I think the problem is that H5P on my Moodle instance is a newer version that the one used with this Wordpress plugin. The plugin doesn't even recognize copied H5P content from the Moodle site. I have updated the Content Type Cache, and some content types are showing upward arrows now, but I can't click them to update the content types, they are greyed out.
So - when can we expect a plugin update? Or is there another solution to this?
Greetings,
Susan

Problems with licenseExtras in h5p.json
Hi,
well, this morning I did some more research and dove deeper into the error message. The problem seems to stem from entries in the licenseExtra field of which I have many in those H5P files. I deleted all of them, exported the H5P file anew - but alas, no difference, still the same error message coming up. How can this happen when the fields in the file are empty? I checked each and every meta data entry for contents in this field and deleted them all.
Right now I am stumped. Looks as if I have to recreate all three files in Wordpress from scratch. Just 3 months ago everything was fine when exporting from Moodle to Wordpress. Please tell me that there's another solution to this dilemma.
Greetings,
Susan

WordPress is installed, but content is not shown in frontend
Hello,
I have a problem with H5P and WordPress. The Content is not shown in the Frontend.
First of all my system:
Desktop PC with Firefox, Opera and Edge testet
WordPress Version 5.5.3-de_DE
H5P Version 1.15.0
H5P is fresh installed and everything seems to be fine.
Discribtion of the Problem:
In the backend I can create all kinds of content types. I can see them in the Backend, can test them, modify them, delete them. And I can see, that H5P is realy what I want. But if I try to insert this content in my Frontend-Page while using
[h5p id="15"] as a Shortcode, it is not shown. Well, sometimes it is shown for a wink, but just for less than a 1/10 second, before it is canceled. I tried several codes and several different Templates/Themes and Browsers. If I use a Shortcode, which does not exist, I become a Message shown, that "H5P content with id: 4 can not be found". (Ok, I become this message in German).
My question is, where my mistake is. I would like to start using H5P but I have to see the content on my frontpage.
If you have any Idears, I would be glad if you can help me (or give me a link if I have not seen this problem in another forum).
Regards (and sorry for my bad English)
Skipper

Bug in 1.15.2 wp-plugin
After yesterdays update of the plugin to 1.15.2 all my h5p_content was lost. I got the message: "H5P Inhalt mit der id: ### kann nicht gefunden werden." (German language, means: "H5P Content with ID: xxx could not be found" or sth. like that). I rolled back to v 1.14.1 and everythhing was okay. I could reproduce the problem.
System: Wp 5.71, php 7.4.16

Same Issue
[Left same msg at the wordpress.org plugin page]
I am running WordPress 5.7.1 on Ubuntu. After the 1.15.2 plugin update (around April 22, 2021), I kept getting
“Cannot find H5P content with id: ##”.
When I rolled it back to 1.41.1, most worked. Some ran into version issues. Interestingly, I have a local site at localhost (php 7.2), it works fine after the update to 1.15.2. I downloaded my php 7.4 5o 7.2, still the problem persist. It seems that there is some bug in the new plugin.
Thanks for looking into the issue.

Possible Reason ?
Hello, I believe I found a potential reason-- database incompatibility. On a locall site, I run MySQL 5.7 and PHP 7.2 with NO problems the plugin (1.15.2). On the site I had problems, I was running MariaDB 10.3. After I backed up the databases, then removed MariaDB, and installed MySQL server 5.7.33. Everything went well. Hope this might be helpful for those who had problems with the Wordpress h5p plugin 1.15.2. All the best, lgbu
System: Ubuntu 18.04; MySQL 5.7.33; PHP 7.4.16 (back to normal).
