How to avoid correction for a certain type of question

Hello, I was wondering how to get around the correction for a question for which all the answers are valid, as in the case of a personal feeling for a "fill in the blanks" type of question or when a written (open) justification for a certain choice is needed ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

Hi Gianie,

There are several content types that can do this to a certain degree. Questionnaire, Documentation Tool, Essay to name a few.

Please note that for Essay you need to make sure you don't put anything in the Keywords.

The point is that I am using "interactive book" and "course presentation" but I created some interactions with the "simple choice" and "fill in the blanks" tools that don't require correction. I was hoping that there would be an alternative to avoid correction when using the tools within these two types of questions. Other types of question like "Essay" or "Documentation tool" are in themselves single activities, and well the big limitation with "Quiz" is that it does not allow you to work with image, audio or interactive video.

Hi Gianie,

Thank you for the clarification. However I'm not sure what "Simple Choice" probably you meant "Single Choice"? If so you can use Multiple Choice Question which is similar and can be configured to have all the answers to be correct. Also with some changes to the beahavioural settings it can act as if there are no correct/wrong answers.

  1. Enable 'Give one point for the whole task'

  2. Pass Percentage is set to 0.

For Fill in the Blanks I'm afraid this is not possible without making changes to the code.

Hi, thank you for your last reply. The MCQ alternative has partly solved the problem.
I have another question, I created a "Question set" and as I don't want the results of the exercises to be displayed, I have not ticked the "Show results" box on the "Finished" thumbnail. Now, the drawback is that with this box unchecked it is no longer possible to restart the activity, despite having checked the "Display retry button" box. Could you explain to me what is going on? Is it absolutely necessary to display the results/checks in order to be able to start the activity again? ...since it doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

Hi Gianie,

I'm afraid the answer to questions is yes. The option "Show results" is the option to enable disable the summary screen for Question Set, which houses the retry and show solution buttons.

However I think you are correct that there is a need for this option and I have moved this thread to the feature request forum.

Good morning, thank you again! I hope this will be possible in the future.

I have a similar problem with the “Interactive book”, as I would like students to be able to access the summary of the activity and have the option to restart it ("Display settings" tab), but there doesn't seem to be any possibility of disabling the "Submit report" button. Am I right or does an alternative exist to disable this button ?
On the other hand, the "Restart" button remains inactive, nothing happens when you click on it.

Hi Gianie,

The same as Question Set disabling the Summary is the only way and it also "disables" the Restart button. With regards to the restart button not working I suggest that you upload your content here, I am unable to reproduce this issue.

Mmm I see, thank you. Well, in that case I think I'd better disable the 'Summary & submit' option.
