Interactive book fullscreen bug

I have a question regarding the Interactive book fullscreen.
I noticed the contents inside the book don't always resize with the IB container. For example, if I click on the fullscreen tag, the video type will scale up with the IB, fully takes up the container width. but the interactive video won't do that, it just dangles up there, makes the layout looking pretty strange.
A similar thing also happened with Find Multiple Hotspot. It seem that the resize event either doesn't trigger the content to fully occupy the width upon resizing.
Has anyone has a similar problem or just me?

Hi Felix,

Can check if you will get the issue with the sample contents, I can't seem to reporduce this issue. Depending on the results please provide the information below:

  • Issue is also showing in the sample contents
  1. Browser used and version
  • Issue is not showing in the sample contents
  1. Platform and version number. E.g. Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle.
  2. Version of plugin and Branching Scenario

Hello, I'm also working with the Interactive Book (love it) but am having an issue with the fullscreen button and Iframe embedder.

When the Book is in fullscreen, the Iframe shrinks to a tiny strip at the top of the window even though the fullscreen option is selected. See attached screen captures.

I used the defaults for width/height, which display correctly when not full screen.

  • Browsers: Firefox V83.0 , Microsoft Edge 44.19041.423.0

(The sample link above points to branching scenario, not IB.)

Thanks for your help!

Hi Everyone,

@teyssier - That was embarrasing thank you for pointing this out I was testing the wrong content type. The H5P core team does not recommend using Iframe embedder anymore. This content type is not responsive and is not accessible and the only reason why its libraries has not been removed is that it will render all contents with Iframe Embedder unusable.

@Felix  - With regards to your issue I'll check with the core team if this is by design or not since from the looks of it the content keeps the size of the images/videos instead of stretching them.

When in full screen it looks lile

Thank you for your quick response!! I'll let my team know about the iFrame embedder.

I'm seeing another issue with hotspots. Maybe this is related to initial comment? In fullscreen mode the graphics (PNG) completely disappear. When I minimize, the graphics are fine, but students might not realize they missed content if they start off fullscreen. See screen captures.

Hi

Just to add to this...

Currently working in an Interactive Book where we have quite a few Course Presentations. However there is no full screen option for the presentation, and it natively does not seem to fit the size of the book.

I love the IB but if it can't show content as it's meant to be viewed then it's a little difficult. Of course, if I'm missing a setting - please let me know!

Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I'll discuss this with the H5P core team and get back to you within the week or early next week. I have to create a full content with all possible content types inside IB and also experiment on video and image, size and ratio. I noticed that if I use a different size or ratio the view is different which goes back to my previous comment that it looks like the content keeps this instead of stretching to occupy the available space.

Is it right, that the bug still exists?

Thank you

Many thanks for submitting this.

I am using IB in moodle platform. I added a background image for image-hotspots at 2000*1200, but when I switch to full-screen. the image-hotspot is quite small comparing to the course presentaiton in IB. Can anyone tell me how to solve it? any settings I missed? Many thanks

Hi,

I think I already covered Image Hotspot on the bug report I filed above.

1. Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (exactly how and when did it happen)

  • Interactive Books inserted into the course and opened from a Blackboard LTI web link disappear when viewed in fullscreen when
  • I can view interactive books in full screen when I open them in the eCampus Ontario H5P Studio. I can open them in full screen when I preview them from the LTI H5P Content Builder. I can also open as full screen if the content is embedded in Bb rather than linked (labelled screenshots are attached).
  • Feedback from Blackboard Support:

We identify that since it is through a vendor the change needs to be done by the vendor. My suggestion here is to contact the vendor and request to add the script. If they have any issues they will need to create a case directly with us, and work together.

Our suggestion is to add the "allowfullscreen" to this iframe:

<iframe bb-iframe-max-height="" class="classic-learn-iframe" allowfullscreen="" ...

2. Platform and version number. E.g. Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle.

  • Blackboard Release 3900.34.0-rel.51+f0d11c8

3. Mobile or Desktop

  • Desktop

4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc

  • Edge, Chrome, Firefox

5. H5P plugin version

  • georgiancollege.h5p.com

6. H5P content type and version (if a content type was used), and a sample URL or attached H5P.

  • Interactive Book. Occurs consistently with all Interactive Books, not one specific example.

7. Any browser console errors

  • n/a

8. Any PHP errors

  • n/a

9. Screenshots if it's a visual problem

10. Any recent changes to the environment (new plugins/modules, updates, configuration changes etc.)
