Interactive Book contents have been limited

Bugs in content types

Good afternoon.

I'd like to know if there have been any changes to the Interactive Book model. I've been working on a huge project for my thesis using this model and I've created many "Drag the Words" activities.

However, I've tried to add new activities and noticed many of the Interactive Book contents have been removed, such as Multiple Choice, Drag the Words and Drag and Drop...

Has anything changed? Is it a problem on my end? Is it temporary?

Hi palavrativa,

To provide the best possible experience for new users and to ensure that people use H5P.org only for trying out H5P (we've had more traffic than our server can handle lately, ref also the warnings when you create content, embed content and view the content) there are limited content types that are available.

Check the getting started page for information on how you can use all the content types and use H5P for real. We unfortunately are not able to provide free hosting, only free software :) Hopefully you'll consider supporting the H5P Core Team by using H5P.com.

I understand the content types are limited. However, drag the words and multiple choice contents were available for interactive books in the past. They're even included in H5P own examples.

Are they not coming back?

The contents I wrote about are included in H5P's own examples of interactive books. They contain Multiple Choice questions and Drag the Words activities. However, I can't create new ones. Do you know if they're ever coming back to the interactive books?

Hi palavrativa,

The contents that are available are usually dependent on the most recent major release. This is so that the new updates are tested in the "real" environment to help weed out major bugs that may have slipped through the cracks in the testing stages. 

So will there be additional content types yes, when I have no idea when we will release any major update. What content types I have no idea either. 

H5P.org was never meant to be used to host "real" contents. It was intended to test updates and give new users to try out the most basic features of H5P. Then you can use H5P for real by either signing up for an H5P.com license or installing the free plugin.
