Upload pre-made h5p contents to Columns

In Columns you're not allowed to upload single tasks - which means you need to make this content type from scratch. Any plans to enable upload of h5p-content to steps/sections in Columns?

Example:

1) Create a Column resource

2) Click "add content" and upload a previously made "drag and drop" for this section in this new resource from your desktop

3) Click add and create a "fill in" on the spot

4) Click add and upload a previously made course presentation....

This would make Column a great tool for remix and sharing.

Hi,

The core team is about to start work on a better content/content-type selection tool. This tool will be used by Column too, so you will be able to select existing content when it's finished.

Hi,

I'm glad to read your answer to Knutinge. Do you have an idea on when this will be possible ? My issue is that my team has to start making column contents. We plan to use columns as web pages, to create a complex learning object including accordeons, course presentations and other contents that allow a good and rich navigation. But it would be much easier for us to start creating the contents separately and to gather them in a column at the end.

Thanks ;-) !

I don't believe there has been set any timeline for this but I would guess sometime after the summer.

Do you think it's risky to start making the contents separately, knowing that the columns will have to be ready in october ?

Yes, there is no guarantee that this feature is finished and released by October unfortunately. I would not bank on starting to create the contents separately.

Is there a update on this functionality? Or has anyone sorted out a work around for using existing H5P content in a column? I thought perhaps using the iFrame Embed type in the column, with the URL from the embed code, but it fails to render in the column.

Hi mrjarbenne,

I'm sorry no updates yet on this. Although you are correct you can use Iframe embedder as a substitute. When using Iframe embedder you need to remove most of the embed code generated by the content. In my example here, the embed code is <iframe src="https://h5p.org/h5p/embed/219007" width="1090" height="484" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe><script src="https://h5p.org/sites/all/modules/h5p/library/js/h5p-resizer.js" charset="UTF-8"></script>. I removed most of it and used https://h5p.org/h5p/embed/219007. Feel free to download the content if you need to check the settings.
