Branching scenario - disappearing content

Hello, we have been testing the branching scenario tool and really like it.

However, myself and a colleague (with separate h5p.org logins) have both had a situation where we were editing a branching scenario and all the content suddenly disappeared.

Is this a known issue? Is it less likely to happen if we create content via H5P on our Moodle installation?

Many thanks,

Sonya Powney

Hi Sonya,

This could be an issue with the server of H5P.org not able to cope up. There has been a huge spike in the use of the site I would assume due to the effects of quarantines/lockdowns around the world. It should not happen if you are hosting your content or if you are using H5P.com. This site was never designed/intended to be used to host 'real' content.

Thanks BV, we have now installed H5P on our moodle server and get the same problem with branching scenario content completely disappearing when it reaches a certain size. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Sonya

Hi, here is a screen recording of the issue made by a colleague: https://echo360.org.uk/media/730c1e36-1758-4260-b82b-6ff9a1937eab/public

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Sonya

Hi Sonya,

Thank you for the video. I tried reproducing the issue on my side bu I am unable to, it could be a certain combination of activities, certain number or something else. If you can provide the following it will help in isolating the issue.

  1. Platform and version number. Moodle version?
  2. Any browser console errors
  3. Any PHP errors
  4. Attach a sample content that has an issue.

Thanks very much for the quick reply. It happened to me and also my colleague on different projects on H5p.org. Then it happened to my colleague on Moodle 3.6. I'm testing it now on H5P.com. I didn't see any errors displayed, the content just disappeared. I've uploaded my colleague's file (last version saved before issue occured most recently). Cheers, Sonya

Update - I edited for quite a while on h5p.com and no errors so far, fingers crossed. Passing on to my colleague to test on the same site.

Hi Sonya,

I've tried editing the content in Moodle and so far so good. I've also mimicked the test in H5P.com and I did not get any issues. Please keep us posted if the same happens in H5P.com.
