h5p-interaction in AR-Scavenger

 Hi there,

I have got a problem with AR scavenger. A content type I like a lot. I tryed to use „Audio“ and „Course presentation“ as h5p-interaction within AR Scavenger but am not able to choose these as they don`t appear in the drop-down menu.

I already tried a lot to get this running but couldn`t do anything about it so far :(

I tried running it on moodle and wordpress (both running on the same server/Webspace tough), mobile (Android) and desktop (windows), firefox and chrome, checked the versions of audio, course presentation and AR Scavenger and also tried using differnet versions of the named libraries. I reinstalled all libraries and already discussed with the developer (Oliver) of the content type if it is a problem within the code of AR Scavenger (see comments here: https://www.olivertacke.de/labs/2020/08/02/arrrrrr-ar/ )

I also tried creating a ar scavenger content on einstiegh5p.de including audio and importing it to my wordpress installation. That resulted in the following error shown in the screenshot attached. Maybe there is a connection to the issue?!

Does anyone have any idea for me where to search for the cause of this issue?! That would be really helpful for me.

Please let me know if you need any more informations :)

Thanks and cheers

henrik

Ps: I placed my post in the content type-related section but as Oliver says it doesn't have to do something with AR scavenger in particular I thought here might be a better place?!

...I just tried drupal to have all options checked and it draws exactly the same picture:

Everything works just fine..until I try to use "audio" or course presentation as "partner" in a h5p-interaction within ar-scavenger. They just don`t want to appear in the dropdown menu.

When I add course presentation as content type I recognized that other types are added to the list of possible h5p-interactions in the dropdown-menu inside ar-scavenger (Audio recorder, table, link and summary if I remember the list from before adding course presentation correctly). But course presentation itself doesn`t appear.

I would really appreciate some tipps and/or help on that topic. Is somebody experiencing the same issue? Does anyone have any ideas on that? I would like to create an interactive walk for a course which does not work without audio (and in the best case course presentation)...

Hi!

First of alll, the h5p.org server seems to deliver a very outdated version of AR Scavenger in version 1.2.9 while 1.4.1 is the current one. That doesn't explain the issue though.

The old version of AR Scavenger used an old version Course Presentation: 1.22. Should still not be an issue though. The old version of Course Presentation should be installed as a dependency automatically when you install AR Scavenger via the H5P Hub (among other dependencies). As a matter of fact, the H5P does not provide older versions of most of the dependencies though. That's not an issue with AR Scavenger or with any of the H5P integrations - either a problem in H5P core or with the H5P Hub server.

When you now install Course Presentation 1.25 via the H5P Hub, its dependencies get installed. Those dependencies overlap with the dependencies used by AR Scavenger 1.2.9, so that's why you then have more options in AR Scavenger.

AR Scavenger cannot control what the H5P Hub serves, so I cannot fix this. H5P Group will need to look into this.

Also, H5P Group could (eventually) serve version 1.4.1 of AR Scavenger (which they are now about to do). This should also fix your problem, as the dependencies of the newer version match with the currently latest version of other content types that are available.  This doesn't explain why your trouble happened in the first place, and H5P Group would be well advised to look into this to find the cause and rule out similar issues in the future.

If you need an immediate resolution, you can install version 1.4.1 of AR Scavenger by downloading the demo content from https://www.olivertacke.de/labs/2020/08/02/arrrrrr-ar/ and then uploading that content to your site with administrative rights. That will install the newer version with depencies that should match everything that the H5P Hub currently serves.

Best,
Oliver

Hi Oliver,

after I did some testing the last few days I can now say: It works perfectly.

Thank you a lot...now I can get to work :)
