no download button in Course Presentation

serettig's picture

Hi,

I've created a proof of concept Course Presentation that I'd like to integrate into Moodle. However, the download button doesn't show in my presentation. The presentation is at https://h5p.org/node/45317

Is this supposed to be like that or is it a bug?

Thanks
serettig

Hi Serettig

We released the next version of the h5p editor on h5p.org on Friday. And the download buttons has been disabled, until general availability later today. This is so that people won't try to download h5ps that require the new version of the plugin before it's released.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

- Tom

Please do reply on this thread whenever the download button is available again.

tomaj's picture

Hi, the h5ps should be downloadable again, as of yesterday

- Tom

I'm not seeing the download button option.

After having updated the "Course presentation" Content type, the download button has disappeared. In fact, the editor's "Display Options" box has completely disappeared. Any idea?

Thanks

Hi bob76,

I would assume that the screenshot you provided is the one that is missing correct? In from the screenshot you are using Wordpress. Can you please provide the following:

1. WP version

2. Content version

-BV52

Sorry for not having explained exactly. Yes, the screenshot provides the example of "Display Options" that could previously be seen when editing, in the upper right part of the panel.

Wordpress is updated to 4.9.5 version. H5P plugin is updated 1.10.1 version.

And Course Presentation Library updated to 1.17.10

Thanks in advance!

Hi bob76,

Is this issue happening only when creating/editing Course Presentations or other content types as well? Please go to the H5P settings and make sure that the option "Toolbar Below Content" is checked.

Dear all, like to add my two cents as I could not see the "download" option, found this thread and started to upgrade both WordPress (to 4.9.5) and H5P plugin to 1.10.1. The WP upgrade went alright but as soon as I activate the new release of the H5P plugin, my website crashes and I can no longer access my website properly. I have been unable to find a thread about this issue. Has any of you experienced this problem? (Chrome browser). Regards, Madeleine

Dear BV52,

I upgraded my site to WP 4.9.6

Then we upgraded the plugin H5P from version 1.8.4 to H5P 1.10.2

No error messages in the Chrome console.

The WP Admin site crashes immediately after the H5P upgrade and the only way back is to go via FTP, delete H5P and then go back to a previous version. (put backup back in place).

Error message is this site cannot be loaded. There are hardly any plugins installed so we cannot image a plugin-to-plugin crash.

I urgently need to be able to work with H5P and use the download option so any support is useful.

Kind regards, Madeleine

There was an issue with support for older version of PHP in 1.10.2. Try upgrading to 1.10.3. If that doesn't work you should check your web server's error log.

Do you know which version of PHP you are running?
Please see this page to ensure that you're running a version that could have security vulnerabilities: http://php.net/supported-versions.php

The download button has been replaced by the reuse button, but now when I try to reuse content, none of the photos I used in the original will transfer to the new course presentation.  Is there a way to actually download and then upload the h5p file in Moodle?

BV52's picture

Hi bufedwards,

The reuse button replaced the download button since you will have 2 dfferent options (depends on your setup) download or copy. There were no changes to how the content is downloaded. Having said this would you mind providing the information below:

  1. Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (exactly how and when did it happen)
  2. Platform and version number. E.g. Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle.
  3. Mobile or Desktop
  4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc
  5. H5P plugin version
  6. H5P content type and version (if a content type was used), and a sample URL or attached H5P.
  7. Any browser console errors
  8. Any PHP errors
  9. Screenshots if it's a visual problem
  10. Any recent changes to the environment (new plugins/modules, updates, configuration changes etc.)
  11. Any recent changes to the browser you're using (new extensions, updates etc.)

The more information you provide, the quicker the community will be able to fix it and the quicker you'll have a working solution!

Has the download button been disabled in H5P? I have created one course that is done using the Presentation template. I can see controls Embed, Reuse and H5P. However, the download button is missing. I am done with the ceration of the course and have to make it live.

Kindly help to the earliest.

Thanks & Regards,

Divya

Hi Divya,

Download has been renamed to 'reuse' and functions similarly.

I am unable to see a download button in my H5P Interactive content.
I have read many threads, but I can't seem to find any pragmatic information concerning ''exporting'' H5P. I understand that the Examples on the H5P hub can be ''reuse'', but I don't want to download those. I have created my material in Moodle, and now would like to export it as a h5p file, so I can use it another course and give it to colleagues.

Hi ybrouillette,

Under 'Display Options' please make sure that 'Display action bar and frame' and 'Allow Download' is checked. If you do not see these options you first need to change the display options in Site Administration -> Plugins -> Activity Module -> H5P -> H5P Settings.

HI

My school Moodle admin added the plugin. Though I can't see content options. To compound that, I can't seem to download the asset from the my h5P account.

BV52's picture

Hi Upyourenglish,

Your administrator needs to install the content types before you can see them in the HUB. To do this he/she needs to click 'Get' in the HUB. To make it faster I suggest to install the compound content types such a Course Presentation, Column, Question Set to name a few. This will not only download the libraries for the said content type it will also download the libraries of the content types that are included in it.

Where did you create those content? Can you make sure that the download option is enabled.

Hi,

I had a video which I uploaded at h5p.com to test out (in one-month trial plan) the feasibility of interactions. While I was able to include all the interactions required and am able to run it within h5p.com website as well as embed into my Moodle LMS, I am required to download the h5p package and share with others as a SCORM to test in their LMS for which I need the h5p file.

As suggested in this thread, The "Reuse" option of the content gives me only "Copy Content" option only. Why so?

How else can I download my content as h5p?

Thanks and Regards

Hi Govind,

By default the download option is disabled, you need to enable it by editing the content and under "Display Settings" place a check on "Allow users to download content". You can also check this documentation for more details.

-BV

Hi BV

Thanks a lot. It indeed is available when "Display Settings" option "Allow users to download content" is enabled.

The option check box language confused me to think - If enabled, users will be allowed to download the content which for plagiarism protection, wanted it to be disabled. Will check that mode and add feedback here :-)

Hi,

In continuum to my earlier comment on the suggestions of BV52 wherein Download option worked, would want to provide this additional tip/ experience with others in this forum.

In case you want to limit the download to protect copyright etc., enable the Download option as suggested, download the file and disable again. When the h5p content is provisioned with the Download option, the users too will be able to download and in case you want to prevent that, use this suggestion

Thanks

Hi,

It's March 2022

The button Download still does not exist.

Is that your regular roadmap, 5 years to get the button, or have I missed something?

Cheers,

Piotr

BV52's picture

Hi Piotr,

I think you may have misunderstood what the original post was. This thread was started by Sebastian asking why the download button was missing and was caused by an update which was resolved after a few days. There is a download button below the H5Ps as long as the author enables it, however you users might miss it since it is labeled as "reuse".
