A free HTML5-based memory game content type allowing authors to add their own images (and optional text) to a memory game. To play the game, users search for image pairs, which will display a specified text message once a matching pair has been found. Memory games are created using only a web browser in publishing systems like Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard, Moodle and WordPress.

At the moment there isn't a setting that will let us change the flipping time of the cards. I would suggest that you head over to the Feature Request forum and post your suggestion.

After the retry button started to work, other problem came up: the game takes the same cards as in the privious game. It doesn't make a new selection from the total set of cards. Is it possible to do something about?

Wordpress Plugin

Hi, I have found that the Memory Game and Find the Hotspot do not work when uploaded to, or built within, the Wordpress Plugin. It creates the games, provides a shortcode, but shows nothing. Is this a known issue or unique to my setup? BTW, other games seem to work fine.

Could you open your browser's console(Ctrl+Shift+J in Chrome) and look for any error messages?

Adding sounds in matching pairs

Hi! Is it possible to add sounds in the memory cards, so that you will need to match sounds instead of images? Would be a great fitcher for studying languages, for example, or just for general develompent of auditory memory using any kinds of sounds.

This is not possible as of the moment. The good thing is that H5P is open source, you or anyone in the community can make changes to the contents. You can either follow the instructions in this documentation or you can post a request in the Feature Request forum.

It is clear from every perspective how the feature will work. We recommend describing the feature with one or more user stories, for instance “As an author I want it to be possible to pick between different effects for the check answer animation so that the learners will see a variety of effects and also I can adapt the effects to my target audience(I’ll be using pink unicorns which works really well for both my target audience which are 4 year old girls and venture capitalists)”
If the feature can be illustrated with images or videos it always helps
Make it clear what content types this is relevant for, and or if this is a new content type

Not all matches give response

Some pairs don’t show the answer when matching.. I also wonder if the image couldn’t be made to zoom out when flipped. On my phone, I couldn’t figure out what the landmark was.

I'm so happy, I found this plugin for my webpage !!! But when I make memery games, they gets to big. 12 cards are okay, it's possible to se all the cards at the same time - but when I create a game with 16 cards - it's not possible to see the last row of cards......... Questions for this great game !

The game is really easy and quiqk to create.

But if you use a lot of cards, the "Position the cards in a square":

if checked will lay some cards out of the screen. Making the game difficult to play
if not checked, will lay the cards in rows but not evenly distributed.

Is it possible to distribute the cards evenly in a predefined number of rows (2 rows for example)?

H5P is a plugin for content/learning management systems such as WordPress, Drupal or moodle. You'll have to install the plugin there or use H5P hosted on another website to create content there and embed it into your website.

Hello, I like the memory card game. I would like to use this game on a web page of my site in order to find a winner after 15 days of participation; I would like people to be able to participate several times if they wish. For this is it possible to record the results ? And ask them to fill out a form to retrieve their last name, first name, email address ...?

Firstly you will need to use a combination of contents to achieve this. The first thing that comes into mind is using Column and combining Memory game and Documentation tool. You can also experiment with other standalone contents that can capture text without assigning a score Questionnaire is one example.

As for retrieving data H5P emits data in the form of xAPI statements and you will need a plugin or custom code to listen to these statements and a data store such as a learning record store to save them in.

Note: You may need to find an LRS that will let you capture data anonymously if you are not going to ask your users to register beforehand.

Reset and random cards

Hi all,

First, thank you so much for this memory game!
When we choose the "reset" option + the "random" option, it could be quite useful to choose whether or not we want the cards to be the same as cards in the first game, or to be new random cards. Don't know if my english is understandable:)?

Able to see card content before click on it

I want to use your h5p matching game in my WP project. But it does not work as I would expect.

When I creating content and the game itself inside WP everything forks fine. But when I want to try the game on real page I can see content of all cards. I see my images just mirrored. I see card back but there is also a picture on it. It looks like cheating. When I click on image it rotates and then picture is OK.

What can be wrong?

Please add a field for directions

If someone is using a screenreader, there is currently not a place for them to read directions or an explanation of what to expect or do with the memory cards. I am not embedding the cards in an LMS so there is no way for me to add directions above the game. Does anyone have a workaround?
