Description
This content type allows end users to press somewhere on an image and get feedback on whether that was correct or incorrect according to the task description.
The author uploads an image and defines various hotspots corresponding to details or sections of the image.
Hotspots can either be defined as correct or incorrect, and the author provides appropriate feedback text in both cases. The author can also define a feedback if the end user presses somewhere which is neither defined as a correct nor incorrect hotspot.

Missing Toolbar
Hi I tried creating a "Find the Hotspot" object both on your site and on a local install of H5P that I have and in step 2 there is no Toolbar that lets me chose which type of hotspot to put on the image. I tried in different browsers as well and even downloading and uploading this example, and still no way to add hotspots.
Any help would be appreciated :) thank you

No toolbar to select hotspot
Hi,
I think I have the same issue as above i.e. there is no 'toolbar' (as described in the obvject instructions) to create a new hotspot.
I installed the zipped library of ALL library content types and am unsure as to how to implement the fix described. The 'delete' option for the find the hotspot type is greyed out, and when I upload the individual .h5p library for that content type it still doesn't work. Can you advise please.
Thanks!

Thank you - I think I've figured out what the problem was.
The first time I did not tick 'Only update existing libraries' and it didn't work.
The next time I ticked the box and its all working as it should thank you. I'm not sure the purpose of the 'only update existing libraries' tick box. Surely the default action should be to overwrite any old files? But thank you for the help!

The purpose of the 'only update existing libraries' tick box is to avoid uploading new libraries. E.g. if you've only installed Interactive Video and would like to update it without receiving the Presentation or Boardgame tools you can tick this box to avoid installing any new content types.

Gamification
Hello ~ I thought I'd ask the core developers or someone in the community. I plan to use this, and some other games and quizzes you have on H5P to allow my users to earn points, to motivate them sort of. Is there a way to make the green bar at the end, the one that shows up when I get the answer correct, to show 1) the points earned 2) a different icon other than the golden star? I'd guess these two parameters will have to be configurable - but since they can be dynamic (coming from a database) I'd need to pass them to the H5P code in real-time. Any ideas let me know. Thanks. This applies to a few other H5P cool thingies. Another thing, it would be great to have the question spoken as audio as well (configurable), especially for kiddos who don't know how to read yet. Thanks!

Forgot to suggest this: it will be easier if when I pick the wrong item, that I can continue to guess and pick other items without having to click on a "Retry" button below - I think that button is unnecessary - I barely noticed it - a kiddo will not notice especially if they don't know how to read yet. Thanks.

Agreed
Yes, I've noticed that the Retry button is a little redundant at times as well. An 'instant' try again option (or removal of the retry) may be easier for end users.

Good idea
Thanks for the feedback! The Retry button does feel redundant. The reason it was added was to make sure the user noticed the feedback text, before Retrying. Then you might ask why the feedback text was placed below the image in the first place? Well, the reason for that was mainly to avoid clutter on smaller screens, like mobile, where you'd have the challenge of long feedback texts placed on top of the image. Any suggestions on how to make this better is appreciated :)

Great feedback. I think you can do some things using CSS right now, and we're planning to add an add on feature so that for instance the feedback animation will be an addon and thus possible to replace with a different feedback addon.

Having multiple 'corrects'
Hi
I'd like to use this for a 'Spot the difference' activity, but only the most recently edited hotspot out of 6 becomes clickable. The rest are visible in edit mode, set as correct, but can't be clicked on in the image. Would appreciate any workarounds or identifying the problem.

Strange: the H5P site doesn't have the DnD content type but my Moodle plugin does. So I created it in Moodle and working fine accept that when you grab the draggable a dotted line around the drop zone appears, thus giving the answer away (FF browser).

Hi,
On h5p.org, not all content types are available for new users, that is intentional.
In drag and drop each draggable may be connected to several dropzones. All the dropzones will be highlighted with a dotted line, when you start dragging. In one of the upcoming releases, there will be possible to disable the dotted lines from beeing shown.

Bug related to multiple hotspots
I created a Find the Hotspot activity in Moodle (3.1) with one hotspot, then saved and tested successfully. Then I edited it to try it with two hotspots. I could add a second hotspot but could not edit the second hotspot (I could edit the first one, but not the second). Clicking on the second hotspot made no response. However, when I added a second hotspot, saved the whole thing (without editing), and then re-edited, I could edit the second hotspot. I am using Mac 10.11 on Chrome 55.0.2

Hi,
Indeed, this is in order to facilitate tasks where more than one hotspot CAN answer the question correctly (e.g. 'click the orange', and there is 4 oranges), not to facilitate tasks where multiple hotspots MUST be answered correctly (e.g. 'click the orange, apple and banana').
The 'find the hotspot' task is not well suited for you use-case.You could have a look at Drag Question, you might be able to create something similar there.
If you want a 'find the hotspot' content type with multiple correct hotspots then I suggest creating a 'feature request' in the approprioate forum here at H5P.org, or create a pull request if you have developer resources. This could either be a completely new content type, or modifications to the currently existing 'find the hotspot'

Other options other than correct and incorrect...
This is a suggestion rather than a question. I would like to use this to educate new faculty on where in the college they can find resources. So, my plan was to upload a campus map as my image and create hotspots over certain areas such as the computer lab, workroom etc. Then, when they clicked on the hotspot I was hoping I could create a pop-up that could contain text such as, "You can reserve our computer labs...". A hover box would also work for my purpose.
The problem is, the multiple hotspots doesn't work as I would like (as mentioned in other comments) for this purpose. Also, the only options for this activity is correct and incorrect. My suggestion is then, add more options other than correct and incorrect such as, text only. And, correct the multi hot spot issue.
Unless, you have another suggestion for a different content type that would work for my purpose...
Thank you!

Find the Hotspot-Multiple correct/incorrect?
I love Find the Hotspot but it seems to only allow one correct answer. I have two correct answers and two incorrect answers, but once you click on any one of them, you can't click on the other ones too. I want the user to find multiple correct and/or multiple incorrect spots. Am I missing something or does this tool only allow one answer?
Thanks so much for any guidance!

Why, for Pete's sake?
Why are you guys so averse to removing the "Retry" button? Is it really so labor-intensive on your part that it's "contingent on funding"? The button is not necessary, at all, and it's pretty ugly. Even if it doesn't bother users aesthetically, its sheer superfluity can make it confusing, in some configurations. And when it's not confusing, it makes it look really awkward, cluttered and... well, bad. You guys say in your "roadmap" that this is for creative people. So why is there hostility on your end to allowing us to make it LOOK better? I'm not talking about ADDING a feature for us, just don't force use this "retry button" feature of yours.
I would love it if I had the option to get rid of ALL of your ugly blue buttons, which plague a few of your otherwise very-cool offerings, They make it MUCH more difficult to imagine loading your software onto a website, or asking the admins of any site I work on to consider H5P. It's like we can get halfway to making something really creative, but then it gets undercut by something you could easily fix by giving us a box to check that represses the button. WHY, after all the great things you've made, is that such a big deal to you?
Lack of color flexibility is a drawback with other things of yours and asking us to use CSS for something that minor isn't appropriate... but this retry button is something you didn't have to add that we cant remove. I KIND of understand why you can't prioritize options to change the font and color in a lot of plaes, but that no one on your team is willing to take ten minutes to help us REPRESS that Retry button is really confusing.
The reason I'm not going over to "feature request" is because I'd _really_ like to know WHY that step seems so far afield to you. I really want to understand the reasoning. I did read someone from your team saying it was an issue about not making the screen cluttered--but please, look at how much more NAIVE the forced "Retry" makes the whole site feel. We have the option to set the background image large, and to save feedback for the end... do that, and if the user clicks an "incorrect" spot, he'll find a red X. FOR SOME REASON, there's no option for him to just KEEP GOING... even that wouldn't be so bad, but you guys (to avoid clutter[??]) decided that the user would HAVE to go all the way down to the bottom of the screen after clicking the RED X MULTIPLE TIMES AND WONDERING WHY THAT DOESN'T WORK. Even this would be no big deal, assuming you would just pop a feature in to repress the Retry button, but you keep replying to people as if that's a REALLY tall orderl that could take any number of months to get round to.
The reason I've gone into such detail about this is that it's a REALLY unfortunate characteristic of a lot of the things here, and your responses to questions about aesthetic stuff, that would be easy for you to impliment, is really disheartening. Why should we mess around with CSS when you could handle this so easily on your end?

Thank you for your feedback.
Thank you for your feedback. The core team is not huge and has to be focused to be productive. We interrupt our planned work only to fix major bugs that can't wait. Every time we start a new sprint we consider all feature requests and bug reports that have been reported by the community. We try to take into account all feature requests, but the feature requests that are filed under feature requests don't risk being forgotten.
Also, remember that H5P is an open source project. Anyone can make a pull request for this one and we'll merge it in as long as it is fixed the same way as for other content types (in editor: behavioral settings, disable retry ...)
By the way, users don't have to go to the bottom of the screen to retry anymore. We've fixed that.
Your language and use of capital letters is also quite colorful. Some might interpret it as negative and that could ruin the experience for community members using H5P.org, so please try to make it more clear that you are being constructive :) For instance, it seems that some want to disable retry to avoid more attempts, others just want to get rid of the button and retry in other ways. How can we cater for both without confusing the learners? And how can we remove the retry button and still make it clear that you can retry and how to do it in a way that satisfies all WCAG 2.0 AA requirements? And what exactly is the problem with the blue buttons? That they are blue? You want H5P to blend in better with the rest of the site?
If you decide to answer some of this I would appreciate your answers as feature requests. A voting system is coming soon for the feature requests making it easier for the community to make it clear what the most important requests are.

Remove the retry option
Hi,
I have a question related to "Find the hotspot" -library.
Could it be possible to disable the retry / try again option if answering incorrectly?
So that the user can answer only once and not able to try again?
This could be handy with Drual Quiz if there are multiple questions.
ps.
Now there is another "hotspot" library module which allow multpile correct answers. Maybe that option could be integrated to this library so that there is then only one library for making hotspots?
