Hi philpav,
I'm afraid this is not possible, Mark the Words is designed to have single words as answers.

Hi opinco,
Looks like it's working there used to be another workaround ' ' but it was removed after a bug fixed that resolved another issue.

Mark part of a word in Mark the Words
Hi
In the text example it says Asterisks can be added within marked words by adding another asterisk, *correctword*** => correctword*
I tried to copy the example, but I cannot get it to work. I hope you can help me figure out what I am doing wrong.
I want to do a exercise where the students have to mark stress within a word e.g. po*ta*to
The students are presented with a list of words like sugar, vinegar, potato. I want them to mark the stress within the marked words e.g. sugar, vinegar, potato
Do you have any tips on how to make the exersise work without having to split up the words eg. su gar vi ne gar ?
Best regards
Cathrine

extra space between punctuation mark
We have used a "Mark the Words" exercise. One should click on certain words, written in italic, if they are spelled correctly. The problem is the rest of the text that is spelled correctly: before a comma or a period, it looks like there is a space, when in fact there is no space, e.g. Berlin , 25 . 8 . instead of Berlin, 25. 8. Such a "visual space" before a comma or a period does not comply with Slovenian ortographic rules. Is there a solution for this problem?

Hi Alenkaže,
Thank you for reporting this. I filed a bug report regarding this issue. As a work around if you include the period or coma as italic the additional space is not created.

workaround only works between **
Hi BV52,
thankyou for reporting the bug.
The workaround that you have mentioned only works for the text that is inbetween the **, bit does not work in the rest of the text.
Best regards, AlenkaŽe

still the space inbetween
Hi BV52,
Thankyou for your quick response. The space in the last line is smaller, but there still looks like there is a space and the dot is not right behind the end of the last letter.
I tryed to reuse your example and as you can see in the edit section (Pic. 1) there is realy no space, but it is obviously seen in the front (Pic. 2). And the last one is example from word document (Pic. 3: first line with a space and second without it).

Yes you are correct there is still a space, we need to wait for the H5P core team to pick up the ticket and fix the bugs that we found.

How to repeat the exercise after getting all the correct answers
It seems that a redo is possible when there are errors on the first attempt, but when all the answers are correct (marked by the green checkmarks), there's no way to do the whole exercise again. Please advise.

Hi lcui,
I'm afriad redo the exercise once full marks has been achieved. Feel free to post a feature request for this. In order for your feature request to attract as much interest as possible make sure it follows the below guidelines:
It is clear from every perspective how the feature will work. We recommend describing the feature with one or more user stories, for instance “As an author, I want it to be possible to pick between different effects for the check answer animation so that the learner will see a variety of effects and also I can adapt the effects to my target audience(I’ll be using pink unicorns which works really well for both my target audience which are 4 year old girls and venture capitalists)”
If the feature can be illustrated with images or videos it always helps
Make it clear what content types this is relevant for, and or if this is a new content type
Make sure you post the feature in the Feature Request forum.

Appearance of extra spaces between words
This is working great for me except one small issue - the text appears OK in editor but displays at runtime as if there is an extra space or two between every word ... in other words:
a little bit like this!
It happens whether or not it's in italics, or I use . Any body found this, and/or a workaround?

Mark more than one word
I would use this type of quiz all time if it allowed selection of more than one word, for example "is going" or "had gone". Is this possible or planned?

Thanks for replying, but I know from experience that feature requests (like bug fixes) are not effective. We will try to implement this outside H5P, as we have had to do with other content types.
