Using H5P with Canvas by Instructure
H5P provides a very tight integration with Canvas through H5P.com.
The images above are screenshots of (1) grades from H5P.com in Canvas, (2) the H5P.com repository in Canvas, (3) editing H5P.com content in Canvas and (4) viewing H5P.com content in Canvas
With H5P.com content may be created from within Canvas, you get your own H5P content repository accessible from within Canvas and grades are stored in Canvas. H5P.com also provides analytics accessible from within Canvas so that teachers may see what the learners answered to the different H5P questions.
To get started with H5P in Canvas just go to H5P.com and start a 30 days free trial. You should make sure your Canvas admin is ready to set up the LTI integration.

Author vs Instructor with H5P LTI in Canvas
A question about who must add H5P content to Canvas via the LTI:
As the LXD for the school, can I set up the H5P content in the Canvas course shell? Or does each teacher need to have their own H5P account in order to ensure that the interactive content will integrate with each of their gradebooks?
I'm developing all the H5P content for several different courses and teachers.

Free text question
I got my h5p.com content set up in Canvas, but I have a question about free text question element in the interactive video. I know responses can be seen and graded in the reports on h5p.com (and the grade is reported back to Canvas) - and that's the only place I can see those responses, correct? (That is, the responses are not sent to the Canvas speedgrader.)

Thanks for response, BV!
It's too bad that seeing those responses requires a bit of clicking to "drill-down" and see/grade them. It would be nice to see all the responses on one page (i.e., a report for that question that has all the student responses or all that need manual grading). I didn't see a way to export those reports, but I admit, I'm just getting started (and I love h5p!) and still learning my way around. (Just saw some links about xAPI & h5p and will be reading that when I have a chance.)

Drag the Words
My students and I have found the Drag the Words content extremely beneficial. I no longer see that as an option. Please tell me how I can continue to use Drag the Words for new content.

To provide a best possible experience for new users and to ensure that people use H5P.org only for trying out H5P (we've had more traffic than our server can handle lately, ref also the warnings when you create content, embed content and view the content) we are experimenting with which content types should be available here.
Check the getting started page for information on how you can use all the content types and use H5P for real. We unfortunately are not able to provide free hosting, only free software :) Hopefully you'll consider supporting the H5P Core Team by using H5P.com.

Please note that for basic lisences only scores are sent, it does not include the answers. If the lisence includes Drill Down reports you will have the analytics such as student answers, scores for every attempt, duration among other things.

Embedding from one section to another without authorship
Hey,
I am helping an instructor at my institution embed an interactive video into one of her courses. This is no problem as I am added to the course, but she also has another section of the same course and would like the video in that course as well. This instructor is not an author. Is there a way for her to add the same video content to the other section without being an author or will I need to become a member of both sections in order to add the content (assuming she is unable to become an author herself)?

We have H5P set up with the
We have H5P set up with the LTI integration in Canvas and the H5P.com account. In the past, when you went in to edit a page, the H5P icon showed up on the toolbar in Canvas and you would use this to insert new H5P components into the page. Recently Instructure changed the user interface for the editing toolbar in Canvas and now the H5P icon is not there. We have Panopto video set up through LTI as well, and it also shows up as an icon on the editing toolbar and it still shows up on the new version of the editing toolbar. I'm not sure where to start to try to fix this. Do you have any ideas?

Image Sequencing
Hi,
I am new to the community and actually did commit to H5P because I was intrigued with the image sequencing tool. I even came up with my (test) images before submitting my request for a free 30-day-trial phase.
I am working with Canvas (no grading required), and I simply wanted to embed the assignment in one of my course pages. However: Is it just me, or did the image sequencing tool go missing?
I am just a simple user and don't have any informatics skills, whatsoever. How do I proceed to get those images up and running for my students?

Hi ganzblau,
In your H5P account you can manage the types of content that is allowed for use and/or for import. Image Sequencing appears to be a type of content that you can import. My guess is that the content that is not already set up for use may not yet be fully in compliance with accessibility laws and/or school policies. But that is just a guess on my part, so someone from Joubel can let you know more about that.
What I can tell you is: You can manually create a sequence of images using the Drag and Drop. Drag and Drop (images) is listed as being accessible in the documentation (as long as there are visible labels for dropzones/draggables).

It is up to you which one will you will use. Drag and Drop can be used but since it was not designed specifically for Image Sequencing it is a little harder to create compared to the Image Sequencing content type. On the other hand Doris is correct in saying that some content types are not accessible and may not adhere to laws/policies of some countries/region/state or institution. You can check this list of content types for H5P.com. Also Image Sequencing was not created and maintained by the H5P core team and as far as I know the original developer is not actively developing this content type anymore, having said this there could be some bugs that may take a long time to get resolved.
I hope this helps you in deciding which content type to use.

h5p in Canvas
Hi - I have installed the h5p in Canvas witn StudyGroup (I work for StudyGroup). The Canvas account 'belongs' to our partner University so all staff have two emails - one for the Uni to log in to Canvas and one for StudyGroup. If the primary email in Canvas is StudyGroup h5p works as expected and people can see their historical h5p content. If the primary email is the Uni email h5p picks up this one. Can I do something so the h5p tool in Canvas will switch to the correct email for those staff that had the Uni email as primary? Thanks
