Free, self hosted integration If you want to use a free, self hosted version of H5P, you need to have Drupal, Wordpress or Moodle. These again require PHP. H5P will also be ported to other languages in the near future. (There is no PHP or SQL code in the H5P content types.) Make sure you have configured PHP before installing H5P. To make your site supports H5P, you need to install a plugin.

When you download the plugin it does not contain any content types itself. Therefore, after installing the H5P plugin on these platforms, you have to install the content types you need.

Need to increase php.ini max upload size.

Hi, I found that I uploaded the modules for video and presentation many times but it did not show up. Finally I found a php.ini file that allowed me to upload files up to 64mb in size. Also, there is a problem with uploading the iframe embedder type. Wordpress told me that the file "phet.html" is not allowed.

I think you'll need to google that question. It depends on what web server you are using and if you are using a host. If you use wamp for instance I would Google something like "php.ini path wamp" if you use a web host like one.com I would google "how to change php.ini on one.com"

There should be a separate entry for H5P under settings and on the root of the admin menu as well. Are you unable to find it? What version of Wordpress are you using?

Joomla error - unable to add content to Course Presentations

I installed the software on Joomla 2.5.24, installed the H5P software, added the article and uploaded most of the sample files - 2 would not load due to HTML extension errors.

I went to do the tutorial on creating a Course Presentation and none of the editor buttons will allow me to drag and place them. I have tried in Firefox and Chrome to no avail. I can create a Keyword and that is all.

Any ideas?

Joomla problems

There are unfortunately problems with the current implementation of the Joomla extension, which makes it uncompatible with many of the H5Ps on h5p.org.

Hopefylly we have a new Joomla extension version available for download by the end of 2015. We will make an anouncement here on h5p.org when that is done.

We hosted the images on Google Drive. When we changed from one Google apps organization to another the images stopped working for obvious reasons. We fixed it quite quickly but I see that we forgot to update you. Thanks for reporting!

I downloaded the zip file from github and not able to find .h5p file. Also I am getting the following error message in my wordpress login when trying to upload h5p zip file. "The file you uploaded is not a valid HTML5 Package (It does not have the .h5p file extension)"

You can (1)embed it from a

You can (1)embed it from a Drupal or Wordpress site into a custom site, or (2)you can create a custom HTML file that loads up everything and works completely standalone.

To create a standalone package you would typically create your content in Wordpress or Drupal, export it and create a custom index.html file that loads up everything. It also needs to include h5p.js and some other files from H5P core so this is a small development effort.

H5P on Mac

There should be no problem using H5P on a mac. If you don't have WordPress or Drupal running already, you have to set up the CMS first. There are plenty of resources out there describing how. When you have the CMS in place, H5P is installed as described here on h5p.org.

Matching concepts

Recently, I was trying out the memory game module and was trying to match a concept with a maths formula, instead of pictures. I could not do it, as it only allows me to match the same pictures but not picture of one concept to picture of a corresponding formula. I was just wondering whether that can be done. Thank you

Can't find editors for h5p content.

I am using h5p plugin: Version 1.7.2 for my wordpress site version 4.4.4. The issue is that I am not getting any of the editors for creating H5P content.For example, to create an image hotspot, inside the ' image hotspot editor', we need:

1. color picker

2. option to move hotspot to a particular position,

bt instead I get these code lines: [field:text:colorSelector:color] and [field:group:imageCoordinateSelector:position]

what is missing? how can I get the complete editors?

Hello! I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the editor. Could you open your browser's console and check if there are any error messages? Ctrl + Shift + J in Chrome. You might need to reload the page.
It sounds like some of the required files aren't loaded correctly. Also, please verify that H5PEditor.ColorSelector and H5PEditor.ImageCoordinateSelector is present on the H5P Content -> Libraries page.

Embed option

There are plugins for Drupal, Wordpress and Moodle. But you can also create a h5p on this page. And use the embed option at the bottom to get some code to embed it on your own page.

Embedding

Are you using any tool or framework to build your web page?

You need put the <iframe>...</iframe> stuff into the html of your web page. So you need to get to a mode where you can see the html, and then find the place you want the embed to happen, and paste the code in there. It should work fine then.

This is not possible. All contents created in H5P.org are publicly available. Which means anyone can access it even without registering to the website. Although you can have some control over your content such as disabling the download and embed option.

Furthermore H5P.com is soon to be released it has exactly the feature that you are looking for. You can go to H5P.com to learn more and sign up for updates.

Moodle Plug in

Hello,

I have 2 questions (which might end up having the same answer ;) ) :

first, could someone explain me the benefits of the moodle plug in vs the embedded option ?

second, if i use the h5p course presentation with the summary at the end, whic gives me the results for that course, can i have moodle reading that results and adding them up to hte results of other h5p course presentations ? Let say to give a badge according to the results for explain or give acces to the next course on Moodle ?

Using the Moodle plugin will give a tighter integration with the Moodle platform. This includes, but is not limited to course integrations, gradebook integrations, managing access, etc.

Moodle will store the score for each Course Presentation and you may extract these scores to use them for your purpose. I'm not particularly familiar with how you would add the scores together to form a threshold that would result in an automatic bade, but I'm sure this is possible. Let us know what you find out :)

Hi AK,

You can't install the H5P Editor on Google Sites. But you can create content elsewhere (e.g. here), and then embed it on your Google Site in an iframe.

Just click the embed-button on the bottom of your H5P, and you can follow some guide online on how to embed an iframe in Google Sites. Like this one.

You should get the Content

You should get the Content Type Hub automatically when you upgrade/install the latest plugin. It can be enabled or disabled from the H5P Settings page.
If you're thinking of the Content Hub for getting and sharing content this, unfortunately, isn't done yet.
